About

blind intuition

Welcome to my blog blind intuition! My name is Sarah Hocking and I am a mother of one. In July 2015 after the birth of my son Archer, I became legally blind.

During my pregnancy, it was discovered that I had benign tumours growing on my optic nerve. When Archer was nine days old, I underwent a 7 1/2 hour long brain surgery to remove the tumours;  when I woke up my world had changed, I was legally blind.

Blind intuition is about my road to independence and overcoming the challenges I face in every day tasks as a blind mother. I am very fortunate that I have a little bit of vision in my right eye. The best way I can describe it is like looking through a slightly blurred pair of black sunglasses at dawn. Light is my best friend. The more natural light around the better I can see things. I can see colour but it is like there is a dark toner put through it.

Please follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to watch me achieve my goals of independence. If you have any questions about how I do every day tasks don’t hesitate to contact me!
